Tiger Woods apologizes for Friday's on-course antics

Here's something you don't see every day -- Tiger Woods apologizing for his language and on-course antics after a round. Hard to believe, I know, but the 14-time major winner made it a point after Saturday's round to tell everyone how sorry he was for his actions.

"I'm frustrated at times and I apologize if I offended anybody by that." Woods said. "But I've hit some bad shots and it's certainly frustrating at times not hitting the ball where you need to hit it."

Woods once again looked frustrated during the third round, hitting blocked drives and never giving himself a chance to build on the two early birdies in the first five holes. He ended the day the way he started it, at 3-over for the tournament following an ever-par 72 round that saw Masters chances end.

After talking up Tiger's chances early in the week, we most likely won't even see a single live shot of his final round ... and that might not be a bad thing. Considering the way he's acted this week, the last thing golf fans want to see is Tiger sulk around the course for another 18 holes.

So Tiger apologizes and seems sincere. That is great. Why is everyone so on top of him? He is human like all of us. I don't condone his actions, but I do respect him for being a big man about it. Tiger, you can do it. Take heart that many are still behind you!!

I think it is about time "Tiger" grows up. he's not a kid anymore, although you would not know it by his actions. He is the one who wanted the position as an example, a leader..etc. If you want to be looked up to and recognized it should not be because you act immature and at times like you are retarded. GROW UP!! Act like a man.

I agree, Grow up Tiger. You are a really bad example for my grand children and we prefer not to watch you. Your constant bad language and throwing, kicking clubs is totally unacceptable. I certainly hope you own children don't observe this behavior. It's really not all about YOU....get a life.

Golfers have fought their tempers at least as long as it's been televised, I suspect even longer. Of the 90 plus golfers in this years Masters, 80 of them at least have sworn, pounded the ground with a club, heaved a club at their golf bag, etc., at least once. Ever see a football player, baseball player, basketball player, tennis pro, etc., display anger? Why do we hold Woods to a different standard? Tiger needs to "grow up?" Nana, you think it's a good idea to let your grandchildren get their life lessons from watching TV? You'll all phonies. He's a competitor, he has a known temper, it's gonna happen. He doesn't need your permission. Turn the channel.

I really wish the Anonymous said who wants Tiger to grow up and act more mature should take his own advice and stop using an assinine expresion like "retarded". This is not political correctness, it is simple civility to not use such a negative term, so "grow up".

What get me is that Tiger is not really in the hunt but that the camera is on him more than the leaders.

Tiger has no respect for the game, no class, and is a washed-up has-been. Everyone that has ever played the game has hit bad shots, but that is his excuse for foul language and club-kicking? The folks at Augusta needed to tell him that the behavior he exhibited will not be tolerated and if he does it again, he will be immediately escorted off the premises. My Dad taught me respect for the game and I've NEVER swore or thrown or kicked a club, and I've hit plenty of bad shots in the past 50 years.

Good for you Tiger, I also get mad and when I do, I toss clubs too. I might even cuss at the marshal or my playing partners. If they don't like it. Leave the course, I paid my green fees.

Tiger is a punk and he continues to remind us of that every time the camera is on him. Which happens to be daily!

Everyone seems to love to kick a guy when he is down. How quick we forget. Chick
